BACKGROUND: The Society of Cannabis Clinicians (SCC) was established in 1999 as a non-profit organization dedicated to education and scientific research into the field of cannabis and dedicated to the support of private citizens in the proper use of cannabinoids. Educational modules were developed by national and international experts in the field of cannabis science and therapeutics.
DESCRIPTION: The SCC has developed three different educational packages. Course work may be purchased as one of the “Packages” or individually, ala-carte for $49. Membership to the Society of Cannabis confers a 20% savings on course tuition. Membership $225/year.

These modules are presented with audio and video self-paced modules. All modules are presented with meaningful graphics in and eye-appealing fashion and easily understood. Particularly strong presentation on the history, botany, ethnobotany and phytochemistry of cannabis in the first modules. Additionally, very strong discussion of the Endocannabinoid system.

EVALUTION AND RECOMMENDATIONS: The MedChi has only reviewed the 5 module Basic package. All modules are of high quality, the learner will have a sound basis of knowledge to be conversant in the field of cannabis medicine science and therapeutics. Overall, this BASIC educational series is highly recommended for the clinician early in learning about cannabis. These BASIC modules also serve as an excellent review for the cannabis experienced clinician. Beyond the BASIC modules, the SCC offers a very in-depth, wide-ranging program for the long-time or cannabis experienced learner.
