The Maryland Neurosurgical Society was established in 1919 in Baltimore, MD to bring together neurosurgeons practicing in Maryland to discuss their practice and patients. The society has evolved over time to also serve as a conduit to express the concerns of neurosurgeons for their patients and their practice.
The purpose of the society is to provide a forum for Maryland neurosurgeons to consider and discuss socioeconomic issues affecting their patients and practice. The Maryland Neurosurgical Society also serves as a conduit for concerns, issues, and initiatives to be brought to MedChi (the Maryland Medical Society) and the CSNS (Council of State Neurosurgical Societies). The Maryland Neurosurgical Society shall act as the voice of organized Maryland neurosurgeons in healthcare policy and advocacy.
Mission
The Maryland Neurosurgical Society is dedicated to supporting the neurosurgeons of Maryland through advocacy for socioeconomic issues, providing a forum for collegial relationships amongst its members to advocate for the practice of Maryland neurosurgeons benefiting their patients and profession.
