Who Can Join MedChi?
On behalf of the Board of Trustees and staff of MedChi, thank you for your interest in joining MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society. MedChi offers a vast array of benefits and invites you to team up with more than 6,000 medical practitioners by becoming a member if you are one of the following:
- Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in private practice, employed by a hospital or group, working in an academic setting, or retired
- Resident (complimentary membership)
- Medical Student (complimentary membership)
- Practice Administrator (at least one physician in the practice must be a MedChi member)

Reasons to Join MedChi
MedChi is the only society representing all physicians in Maryland. Maryland’s medical association is comprised of health practitioners from more than 50 medical specialties and continues to grow with over 8,000 members including private practitioners, academic physicians, retired physicians, residents, and medical students. » MedChi Leads the Coalition of all Maryland Physicians to Advocate on Behalf of Patients and Quality Care
Advocacy is important because legislators depend on subject matter experts, like you, to create effective policy and legislation. Because health care policy touches everyone, regardless of age, gender, or political leanings, it is critical that physicians are engaged and can educate legislators on the unseen effects of their proposed policies. MedChi is a huge advocate on policy issues including Tort Policy, Scope Policy, Telehealth Policy, and Economic Policy.

Full Member
($500/annually)
This membership is open to any M.D/D.O. living in, legally practicing in, licensed to practice in Maryland. For physicians in the first year of practice, dues are $300/annually. For physicians in their second year of practice, dues are $400/annually.

Associate Member
($300/annually)
This membership is open to any M.D./D.O. who practice medicine less than 1,000 hours
per year and are living or working in Maryland; and commissioned medical officers in the armed forces, U.S. Public Heath Service, and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Out of State Affiliate Member
($205/annually)
This membership is open to any M.D./D.O.
who are active in another constituent
association of the American Medical
Association (AMA) and licensed to practice
medicine in Maryland; former members who
have moved out of the state; members of
the Maryland State Dental Association in
the full-time private practice of dentistry;
and persons who hold academic degrees
equivalent to the degree M.D. or D.O.

Office Manager
($75/annually)
This membership is open to any Practice Administrators, Office Managers, or Billing Managers employed by a member physician in solo practice or by a group of 2 physicians in which at least 50% of the physicians are members.

Resident/Fellow Member
(COMPLIMENTARY)
This membership is open to physicians serving a residency or fellowship in Maryland.
|
Medical Student Member
(COMPLIMENTARY)
This membership is open to students enrolled in an accredited medical school who either lives or attends school in Maryland.
