MedChi is a statewide, non-profit organization governed by a Board of Trustees and comprised of a House of Delegates, 24 component medical societies, a medical students section, a residents’ section, MedChi’s Divisions, and Affiliates.

MedChi’s Divisions include the following: 

• Member Services - Offers extensive benefits, support, and information to members.
• Law and Advocacy - Serves as an information and advocacy conduit to and from members on matters of legal, legislative, and regulatory concern to Maryland physicians and analyzes public policy issues affecting physicians and health care.
• Continuing Professional Development and CME – Delivers content that is evidence-based, clinically relevant, valid, transparent, free of bias or commercial influence, and grounded in the principles of adult learning.
• Practice Services - Provides credible and impartial support to all health care professionals throughout the state and business support tailored for private practices with MedChi Network Services, a managed care organization.
• Other divisions include Executive Office, Advertising, Finance and IT, Operations, and Publications. 

MedChi’s affiliates include the following:

• The Maryland Medical Political Action Committee (MMPAC)  - Supports state legislators who are fighting to protect the interests of Maryland physicians and their patients.  MMPAC is a voluntary, non-profit, unincorporated committee of individual physicians and others, cooperating in political education and action.
• Center for a Healthy Maryland - A 501(c) 3 affiliate of MedChi, the Center promotes public health and helps physicians better serve our state’s citizens with these valuable programs:
  • Maryland Physician Health Program - Provides confidential support and counseling for any problem that could harm your profession and life.
  • The Maryland Physician Leadership Institute - Encourages, empowers, and trains future physician leaders.
  • The History of Maryland Medicine - Preserves the rich history of medicine in Maryland. 

Through the Center for a Healthy Maryland, MedChi also provides public health initiatives such as the Maryland Maternal Mortality Review program in collaboration with the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. 

• The MedChi Insurance Agency, DBA Unity Insurance,  a wholly-owned subsidiary of MedChi, the only insurance broker in Maryland that directly benefits organized medicine.
