BACKGROUND: Based at the University of California San Diego, the CMRC was established 1999 to promote research and education in the field of Cannabis. The CMRC focuses on public safety, DUI, roadside testing, basic research, and education.
“The CMCR was established pursuant to California Senate Bill 847. The legislation called for a program overseeing objective, high quality medical research that would "enhance understanding of the efficacy and adverse effects of marijuana as a pharmacological agent". This included conducting clinical and pre-clinical studies of cannabinoids, including smoked marijuana, to provide evidence whether marijuana has therapeutic value”.
DESIGN: The presentations include simultaneous audio and video and are self-paced with the opportunity to back-track or review. Presentations are of high quality, understandable graphics and fully referenced

The program is best suited for the experienced clinician and those wishing to keep “up to date” via the ongoing “Grand Rounds” program.

COST: Numerous educational video modules and direct access to research papers is provided free of charge. There is no membership fee or charge for the educational videos. A yearly virtual 2-day symposium is available free of charge.
