Maryland law requires all new and renewal applicants for the Maryland CDS Registration issued by Office of Controlled Substances Administration (OCSA) to attest to completing 2 Hours of Continuing Education, related to the Prescribing or Dispensing of Controlled Dangerous Substances. MedChi’s CDS CME Roadshow is specifically designed to fulfill this requirement.
Each presentation offers prescribers 2 CME credits, fulfilling the CME requirement for CDS renewal. This specific CME covers the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) and how to effectively use it and stay in compliance with Maryland law. There is no charge to attend the CMEs for both members and non-members, anyone who is a prescriber with a CDS license in the state of Maryland is welcome to attend. Given each presentation has been at max capacity, we have offered the 2 CME credits to 400+ prescribers thus far. Since there has been such a great turn out for each meeting, we have continuously been scheduling more meetings for the remaining of the year, see below. We also offer an online version of the CME for those who are unable to attend any of the in person meetings. We have found this to be a great tool in educating the medical community about the PDMP program while still assisting prescribers in meeting all legally mandated CDS requirements in the state of Maryland. If you would like to RSVP for one of the dates below, request the online version, or host a CME at your practice consortium or hospital, please reach out to Amalia Rivera Oven by email or
