You are invited to attend a CME Dinner sponsored by the Southern Medical Association on Friday, October 14^th at 6:30 p.m.  The topic to be discussed is “Welcome to Medicare Visits:  Risk Assessments” presented by Jo Ann Steigerwald, RHIT, ACS-OH, ACS-GI.

The "Welcome to Medicare Visit" specifically requires that the new Medicare patient be evaluated as to risk factors for depression and for risks associated with functional ability and level of safety. We will discuss what needs to be included and documented as part of the Welcome to Medicare Visit to meet Medicare requirements for payment for these visits. 

At the end of this presentation, the participant should be able to identify the points required in a Welcome to Medicare risk assessment, and understand the importance of careful documentation of each of the required elements of this visit.
