Continuing Medical Education

There will be 51 scientific sessions presented at the Maryland Medical Convention that have been approved for CME Credit. The overall program covers a broad range of topics and specialties. CME credit is available on an hour for hour basis.

CME Accreditation Statement

Continuing Medical Education activities have been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essentials areas and their Elements of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the direct sponsorship of MedChi.

MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society, is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. MedChi designates this continuing medical education activity for up to 60.5 Category 1 credits toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the activity. 

AOA CME Credit

This program anticipates being approved for Category 1 AOA CME Credit, pending approval by the AOA CCME. 

Counselors and Therapists

The Maryland Psychiatric Society and The Maryland State Medical Society have applied to the Board of Professional Counselors & Therapists to offer 8.75 hours of Category A Continuing Education to counselors for this event. 

Social Workers

This activity is approved for a maximum of 8.75 hours of Category 1 Continuing Education for Social Workers by the Board of Social Work Examiners.  The Maryland Psychiatric Society is approved to offer education credit through the Maryland Board of Examiners for Social Workers. 

Psychologists

This activity is approved for a maximum of 8.75 hours of Continuing Education for Psychologists by the Board of Examiners for Physiologists.  The Maryland Psychiatric Society is approved to offer education credit through the Maryland Board of Examiners for Psychologists.
