Correction to Educational Credits

The number of credit hours for counselors, therapists, social workers and psychologists was printed incorrectly in the original registration brochure.  The correct number of credit hours are as follows:

Counselors and Therapists
The Maryland Psychiatric Society and MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society, have applied to the Board of Professional Counselors & Therapists to offer 8.75 hours of Category A Continuing Education to counselors for this event.

Social Workers
This activity is approved for a maximum of 8.75 hours of Category 1 Continuing Education for Social Workers by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.  The Maryland Psychiatric Society is approved to offer education credit through the Maryland Board of Examiners for Social Workers. 

Psychologists
This activity is approved for a maximum of 8.75 hours of Continuing Education for Psychologists by the Board of Examiners for Psychologists.  The Maryland Psychiatric Society is approved to offer education credit through the Maryland Board of Examiners for Psychologists.

“Legal Aspects of Pain Management” with Stuart W. Hough, M.D. and Catherine Gallagher

Prescription drug misuse and diversion are increasingly common in our region. Physicians may feel that treating chronic pain with controlled substances only invites scrutiny by law enforcement. This presentation by a community pain physician and a senior DEA officer from Baltimore will address these concerns and discuss strategies to minimize the risks associated with opioid prescriptions.

“Interpreting Thyroid Functions Tests” with Jack L. Snitzer, D.O.

This program will discuss how to order and interpret thyroid function tests, and how to diagnose and treat hypothyroidism.
